Amy Cooper

Amy earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi in 2009. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law in 2012, where she was inducted into the National Order of Barristers due to her exceptional oral advocacy skills. After receiving her J.D. from Emory Law, Amy began her career with one of the largest domestic relations firms in Georgia. In late 2013, Amy relocated to Kansas City, MO with her husband Andrew. While in Kansas City, Amy worked as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. While serving as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Amy prosecuted weapons offenses, offenders associated with dangerous criminal organizations, and various other offenses, earning invaluable jury trial experience.

In 2015, Amy returned to Atlanta, and returned to the practice of family law. As a divorce attorney Amy provided her clients with zealous advocacy and competent advice regarding a wide range of matters, such as complex asset division and strategic trial avoidance. Amy has been honored by The National Black Lawyers and The National Advocates as a “Top 40 Under 40” matrimonial attorney for her skill in the area of family law. Amy has also been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyer Magazine in 2018 and 2019.

Amy joined McMasters Keith Butler as an Associate in 2019, after relocating to Louisville with her husband. Her primary area of practice is Defense of Professional Negligence claims made against Physicians, Healthcare Personnel and Hospitals.
